Terms of Service
1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using inkysalt.com, platform.inkysalt.com, or any related service (collectively, the “Service”), operated by InkySalt Inc. (“InkySalt,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), an Alberta, Canada corporation, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service (“Terms”). If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
2. Description of Service
InkySalt provides satellite-derived geospatial intelligence across three domains — STRATUM (mineral prospectivity), ARCTA (Arctic infrastructure intelligence), and CarbonScope (environmental and carbon monitoring). Not all domains are equally mature; current build status for each is disclosed on the platform and in any deliverable we provide. Output is generated using satellite imagery, published scientific and regulatory literature, and AI-assisted analysis.
3. Not Professional Certification
InkySalt’s output — including target catalogues, confidence scores, risk assessments, and any draft regulatory-format sections (e.g., NI 43-101 remote sensing sections) — is a screening and reconnaissance tool, not a substitute for field verification, a Qualified Person’s certification, an engineering assessment, or any other professional opinion required by law or industry standard. You are solely responsible for independently verifying any finding before relying on it for an exploration, engineering, financial, or regulatory decision.
4. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable law or regulation;
Reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the underlying methodology, source code, or corpus of the Service, except as permitted by law;
Resell, sublicense, or redistribute Service output as your own proprietary analysis without attribution where required by these Terms;
Use the Service to generate output that will be publicly represented as fully validated, operational, or field-confirmed when it is explicitly labeled as test, synthetic, or in-development data.
5. Intellectual Property
The Service, including all software, algorithms, spectral indices, scoring methodologies, and underlying architecture, is the exclusive property of InkySalt Inc. and is protected by applicable intellectual property laws. Satellite imagery and open scientific data used by the Service (Sentinel-1/2, Landsat, GEDI, ESA CCI datasets, Geological Survey of Canada publications, and similar) remain subject to their respective open-data licenses and are not owned by InkySalt.
Reports and deliverables generated specifically for a paying client are licensed to that client for their internal use as described in the applicable engagement agreement; ownership of the underlying platform and methodology remains with InkySalt.
6. Disclaimers
THE SERVICE AND ALL OUTPUT ARE PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE,” WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF ACCURACY, MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT.
Remote sensing analysis detects surface and near-surface reflectance patterns consistent with certain geological, infrastructure, or environmental conditions. It does not constitute proof of an economic mineral deposit, a confirmed infrastructure failure, or a certified carbon stock estimate. All findings require independent field verification before being relied upon for any material decision.
7. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, INKYSALT INC. SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS OR REVENUE, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF OR RELIANCE ON THE SERVICE, WHETHER BASED IN CONTRACT, TORT, OR ANY OTHER LEGAL THEORY, EVEN IF INKYSALT HAS BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.
8. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless InkySalt Inc., its founder, and any future employees or contractors from any claim, damage, or expense arising from your use of the Service or your violation of these Terms.
9. Confidentiality
Deliverables prepared specifically for a client engagement are treated as confidential to that client unless otherwise agreed in writing. InkySalt does not disclose a client’s identity, survey area, or report contents in marketing materials without explicit permission.
10. Termination
We may suspend or terminate access to the Service at any time, with or without notice, for conduct that violates these Terms or for any other reason at our discretion.
11. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Alberta and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
12. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
